Operations Manager (MEP)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead and oversee the operational execution of all company projects. This role will lead and coordinate two key divisions: Mechanical Division — responsible for MEP projects, primarily for manufacturing plants and industrial clients, and Electrical Division — responsible for electrical projects, including EV Charging Infrastructure and SPKLU installation. The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring that projects are properly planned, effectively executed, and delivered according to the established timeline, budget, scope, quality standards, and company objectives. This is a primarily office-based managerial position, with periodic site visits as required.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering teams, ensuring effective coordination and collaboration across divisions.
• Oversee the company's overall project portfolio and ensure each project has a clearly defined PIC, timeline, targets, and resource plan.
• Coordinate project start dates and ensure readiness of resources, materials, equipment, manpower, and other project requirements.
• Conduct the final internal review of RAB/BOQ, material requirements, manpower requirements, and project resources before project commencement.
• Monitor project progress regularly and ensure projects remain on track against timeline, budget, scope, and established targets.
• Identify potential issues, delays, and additional resource requirements, and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken by the responsible teams.
• Ensure adequate and effective manpower allocation across all projects through coordination with PICs and the Project Team.
• Provide direction and oversight to Project Managers, Project Engineers, Engineers, Supervisors, and Project PICs.
• Conduct site visits when necessary to assess actual project conditions and support the resolution of critical site issues.
• Develop and continuously improve SOPs, workflows, monitoring systems, and project operational processes to improve efficiency and control.

About you

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in project management, operations, construction, MEP, engineering, or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline).
• Proven experience in roles such as Operations Manager, Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, Engineering Manager, or equivalent managerial positions.
• Proven experience managing and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) and industrial/construction projects.
• Understanding about EV Charging environment.
• Strong capabilities in project planning, scheduling, resource planning, cost control, and project monitoring.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct Engineering and Project Teams through Project Managers and PICs.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to make timely and practical decisions in a dynamic operational environment.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and negotiation skills with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel, for project monitoring and reporting.
