About the Position

Jim’s Plumbing Now is seeking an Operations Manager to lead daily operations, improve our processes, and help our team deliver dependable plumbing service. You will work directly with ownership, our Office Manager, and field leadership to improve scheduling, strengthen team accountability, monitor performance, and solve operational problems. We are looking for someone who can identify what needs to improve, put a practical solution in place, and follow through until it becomes part of how the team works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily plumbing service operations, coordinating with office and field teams to keep jobs moving efficiently from booking through completion and invoicing.
  • Improve scheduling, dispatch, technician capacity, job readiness, and communication between departments.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and develop standard operating procedures that improve efficiency, consistency, and customer service.
  • Train employees on new processes and monitor whether those processes are being followed.
  • Prepare and maintain weekly operational reports covering booking rates, cancellations, technician conversion, average sold job ticket, productivity, callbacks, open estimates, and job profitability.
  • Review performance with ownership, explain the causes of problems, and recommend specific corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate Housecall Pro records, including job statuses, estimates, invoices, customer information, and required documentation.
  • Ensure open estimates receive timely follow-up and approved work does not stall because of unclear ownership or missing information.
  • Work with the Office Manager and field leadership to establish expectations, address performance concerns, and follow up on commitments.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, employee development, and staffing plans.
  • Review labor costs, material costs, purchasing, inventory, and operating expenses to identify opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Coordinate truck stock, tools, equipment, and fleet readiness so technicians have what they need to complete their work.
  • Resolve escalated customer concerns and work with field leadership to reduce recurring service problems and callbacks.
  • Coordinate with office staff and licensed field leadership on permits, inspections, job closeout, safety, and workmanship standards.

Required Qualifications

  • At least five years of experience in plumbing or a related home-service business, including at least three years leading service, operations, or field teams.
  • Understanding of dispatch, technician scheduling, customer service, estimating, and job completion workflows.
  • Experience reviewing operational reports, budgets, job costs, gross margins, and profit-and-loss statements.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes, develop employees, and hold teams accountable.
  • Experience using field-service management software and Excel or Google Sheets for reporting.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work in person and travel locally throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Management experience in residential plumbing service and repair.
  • Experience with Housecall Pro. Experience with ServiceTitan, Jobber, or similar software is also valuable.
  • Experience helping a growing service company build consistent operating procedures.

Relevant industry experience and demonstrated results are valued. A college degree is not required.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual base salary of $85,000–$110,000, depending on experience.
  • Health, Vison, and Dental insurance.
  • 401k With Company Matching
  • Ten days of paid time off.
  • Training and professional development.
  • Direct collaboration with ownership and the opportunity to help shape company operations.
