What they need

Operations Manager – Quick Service Restaurant (QSR)

Company: Taka-Taka
Location: Bristol
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

About Taka Taka

Taka Taka is a growing quick-service restaurant brand specialising in fresh, high-quality Greek street food. With multiple locations and continued expansion, we are committed to delivering excellent food, fast and efficient service, and a consistently outstanding customer experience.

We are looking for an experienced, motivated and hands-on Operations Manager to help lead our restaurant operations, develop our teams and maintain the highest standards across the business.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional who combines strong management and organisational skills with a genuine passion for working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

The successful candidate will take an active role in overseeing day-to-day operations, supporting restaurant teams, improving operational performance and ensuring that our standards are consistently maintained.

This is a hands-on operational leadership position, not a purely administrative or supervisory role.

We are looking for someone who leads by example, takes ownership of challenges and is prepared to work alongside the team during busy service periods, whether supporting food preparation, coordinating orders, assisting customers or ensuring smooth front-of-house operations.

You will be expected to combine effective management with practical involvement in daily restaurant operations.

Key Responsibilities

Restaurant Operations & Service

  • Oversee and support the daily operations of our quick-service restaurants.
  • Work actively alongside restaurant teams during service, particularly during peak trading periods.
  • Ensure fast, efficient and accurate food preparation, order processing and customer service.
  • Maintain consistent operational standards across all areas of the restaurant.
  • Identify operational problems and implement practical, effective solutions.
  • Ensure restaurants are clean, organised, properly stocked and fully prepared for service.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, motivate and support restaurant managers, supervisors and team members.
  • Set clear expectations and hold teams accountable for their performance.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, staff training and ongoing development.
  • Promote a positive, productive and professional working environment.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
  • Ensure effective staff deployment and appropriate coverage during busy periods.

Commercial & Operational Performance

  • Monitor and improve labour efficiency, productivity and operational costs.
  • Support effective stock control, ordering, inventory management and waste reduction.
  • Review restaurant performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Ensure company procedures, operational systems and reporting requirements are followed.
  • Support the implementation of operational improvements and new business initiatives.

Quality, Compliance & Customer Experience

  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and consistency.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and health and safety regulations.
  • Carry out operational checks and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Handle customer feedback and resolve service issues professionally.
  • Ensure every restaurant delivers a consistently positive customer experience.

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

  • Proven management experience in a quick-service restaurant, fast-casual dining or similarly fast-paced hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication and people management skills.
  • A practical, hands-on approach to restaurant operations and customer service.
  • Experience managing staff, allocating responsibilities and maintaining service standards.
  • Good understanding of labour management, stock control, food costs and operational efficiency.
  • Ability to make sound decisions, solve problems and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and peak trading periods as required.

Desirable

  • Previous experience managing multiple restaurant locations.
  • Experience in a growing restaurant group or multi-site hospitality business.
  • Familiarity with restaurant POS systems, workforce scheduling and inventory management software.
  • Food Safety Level 3 certification or equivalent.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Leads from the front: Sets the example through their own attitude, professionalism and work ethic.
  • Is genuinely hands-on: Understands that successful restaurant management requires active involvement in daily operations.
  • Takes ownership: Identifies problems, accepts responsibility and follows through until they are resolved.
  • Is commercially minded: Understands how staffing, service speed, stock management and operational decisions affect profitability.
  • Develops people: Builds capable, accountable teams through effective training, leadership and communication.
  • Thrives under pressure: Remains calm, organised and decisive in a busy, high-volume service environment.
  • Pays attention to detail: Maintains high standards of cleanliness, food quality, presentation and customer experience.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Full-time, permanent employment.
  • The opportunity to take on a key operational leadership role within a growing restaurant business.
  • A dynamic and supportive working environment.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career progression.
  • The chance to make a genuine impact on restaurant performance, team development and business growth.
