Operations Officer

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize core business operations related to investment management, trade settlement, and cash management activities.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations including securities law, SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and banking regulatory standards.
• Oversee internal control procedures to prevent fraud and detect anomalies using fraud prevention techniques and data analysis tools such as pivot tables and SQL databases.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to facilitate accurate regulatory reporting, internal communication, and client correspondence.
• Support financial analysis by utilizing Excel spreadsheets, financial software, and industry knowledge of fixed income markets and investment products.
• Lead process improvements in accounting functions including corporate accounting, governmental accounting, and technical accounting practices aligned with GAAP standards.
• Monitor trade settlement processes ensuring timely execution while maintaining compliance with financial regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in finance or banking operations with a strong understanding of financial concepts such as securities law, financial compliance, and industry regulations.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial software applications, spreadsheets, pivot tables, SQL databases, and Excel data analysis techniques.
• Background in public accounting or internal audit functions is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of investment management principles, fixed income markets, cash flow management, and trade settlement procedures.
• Excellent communication skills for internal collaboration and client interaction; ability to convey complex financial information clearly.
• Strong leadership qualities with experience managing teams or leading operational projects within a financial services environment.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as SOX compliance, governmental accounting standards, and banking regulations is essential.

Pay: $111,800.00 - $123,000.00 per year
