Reports To: Regional Operations Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Overview
OTC Industrial Technologies is seeking an experienced, hands-on Operations Supervisor to lead day-to-day facility operations at our AAP - Automation branch in Murray, UT.
This role leads integrated operations across warehouse distribution and light manufacturing/assembly cells. You will direct warehouse workflows (shipping, receiving, inventory control) while guiding technicians building custom electrical and pneumatic control panels, wire harness assemblies, and assembled, repaired, or modified pump and pneumatic equipment.
The ideal candidate brings proven supervisory experience in an industrial distribution environment, functional proficiency in Epicor Prophet 21 (P21), and working familiarity with UL 508A / cUL 508A, OSHA, and ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 compliance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership & Execution: Supervise daily floor workflows across warehousing, material handling, assembly cells, and staging to ensure on-time delivery, accurate order fulfillment, and balanced labor utilization.
- ERP & Systems Management: Serve as the shop-floor operational authority in Epicor Prophet 21 (P21). Oversee and guide the Production Coordinator on production order scheduling, assembly routing, and job closing, while maintaining direct operational oversight of P21 pick/pack/ship cycles, receiving reconciliation, and inventory adjustments.
- Production & Custom Assembly: Direct and support the Production Coordinator in scheduling and managing production workflows for custom electrical control panels, pneumatic sub-assemblies, wire harnesses, and customer pump modifications/repairs—ensuring assembly personnel strictly adhere to engineering schematics, BOMs, and quality guidelines.
- Warehouse Logistics & Inventory Control: Direct incoming freight receiving, cycle counting, lot/serial tracking, put-away, and outgoing LTL/parcel distribution to maintain high inventory accuracy and minimize backorders.
- Quality Management & Regulatory Compliance: Maintain local operational adherence to certified quality systems, serving as a frontline custodian for ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and UL 508A / cUL 508A panel-shop standards. Ensure all job travelers, test logs, traceability requirements, and audit-ready documentation are rigorously completed.
- Team Supervision & Development: Lead, schedule, train, and mentor warehouse associates and production technicians. Drive cross-training between assembly and warehouse functions to build operational flexibility.
- Continuous Improvement & Safety: Champion a proactive 5S and safety-first workplace culture. Conduct root-cause analysis for inventory discrepancies or manufacturing non-conformances (NCRs/CARs) and implement sustainable lean improvements.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Collaborate daily with the Regional Operations Manager, local engineering, customer service, and procurement teams to proactively resolve production blockers and material shortages.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of operational supervisory or floor leadership experience managing both warehousing/logistics and light manufacturing/electromechanical assembly operations.
- Industry Background: Strong operational background within an Industrial Distribution or custom engineered-solutions distribution environment.
- ERP System Knowledge: Direct working knowledge and hands-on experience utilizing Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) for distribution and assembly workflows.
- Quality & Standards Compliance: Working knowledge of UL 508A / cUL 508A panel standards and operational compliance within ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485 environments.
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Leadership Skills: Proven track record of coaching teams, enforcing accountability, resolving shop-floor conflicts, and driving operational excellence.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
- Fast-paced environment split between a light assembly/warehouse floor and an office setting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs periodically, stand and walk for extended periods during shift operations, and operate or oversee the safe operation of material-handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, order pickers, pallet jacks).
