About the role

CTS is looking for an experienced Operations Supervisor to support the day-to-day running of its site and laboratory operations in Heathrow.

This is an opportunity for a hands-on supervisor who can organise workloads, coordinate employees and ensure operational activities are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Working closely with the Operations Manager, you’ll play an important role in improving operational performance, strengthening accountability and supporting positive cultural and management changes across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily site and laboratory activities, ensuring work is organised and completed on time.
• Coordinate testing schedules, staffing and resources to meet operational requirements.
• Monitor productivity, operational KPIs and team performance.
• Lead, motivate and support employees, setting clear expectations and maintaining accountability.
• Address day-to-day performance and operational issues, escalating where appropriate.
• Ensure work meets agreed quality standards and timescales.
• Support equipment management, maintenance and resource planning.
• Identify employee training and development needs.
• Support the implementation of quality control procedures and ensure health and safety requirements are followed.
• Monitor overtime, administrative accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Work with the Operations Manager to embed improved processes, consistency and performance standards.

About you

We’re looking for someone with a strong combination of technical knowledge, operational experience and people leadership skills.

You’ll have:

• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
• At least three years’ laboratory experience.
• Knowledge of ISO 17025-accredited laboratory standards and procedures.
• Technical knowledge and experience of construction testing.
• Experience organising workloads, coordinating staff and managing operational priorities.
• Confidence addressing performance issues and holding individuals accountable.
• Strong communication, planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to motivate employees and maintain high operational standards.
• A practical, proactive approach to resolving issues in a busy operational environment.
