The opportunity:

Due to an internal promotion, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations Supervisor to join Hilton Haulage and help drive our curtainsider operation to the next level.

We're not looking for someone to simply keep the wheels turning, we're looking for an energetic and motivated leader who has a natural ability to build strong relationships and lead from the front, with an affinity for taking ownership and enhancing operational efficiency.

Overseeing a top-notch fleet and working with a highly skilled and dynamic team, we're looking for someone who thrives on a challenge, enjoys making decisions, and is passionate about building high-performing teams and delivering exceptional service.

If you're ambitious, driven, and looking for a role where you can genuinely influence outcomes while building a long-term career, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

What you'll be doing:

As our Operations Supervisor, you'll be right in the middle of the action and the key contact for our dispatchers, driving teams and valued customers, ensuring our operation runs safely, efficiently, and profitably.

Working predominantly Monday - Friday, 06:30 - 17:00 (with some flexibility required to accommodate business and seasonal demands when needed), you'll be responsible for:

  • Providing motivational leadership, support & development to our driving & dispatch teams
  • Building strong relationships with customers & delivering outstanding service
  • Overseeing daily operational activities & fleet utilisation
  • Identifying opportunities to improve performance & efficiency
  • Supporting growth within the operation & helping drive future success
  • Championing a positive safety culture
  • Working closely with management to achieve operational & financial objectives

This is a role for someone who enjoys working across a broad range of operational responsibilities, taking ownership, solving problems, and making things happen.

What we're looking for:

We're less interested in someone who simply wants a job and more interested in someone who wants a career.

Preferred applicants will possess:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within the transport/logistics sector
  • Natural leadership skills and the ability to bring people together
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
  • A customer-first mindset and a pro-active approach
  • Strong logistics and operational instincts, with the ability to think ahead, solve problems quickly, and keep the wheels moving
  • Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills along with the ability to influence
  • A commitment to health and safety
  • Energy, initiative and resilience along with a desire to continuously improve
  • The ambition to grow both yourself and the operation
  • Financial acumen, including experience managing budgets, monitoring costs, and identifying opportunities to improve profitability

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who wants to leave their mark, contribute ideas, grow themselves and help shape the future of the business.
