The Opportunity Based on Barrow Island, on a 2:2 FIFO roster from Perth , the Operations Supervisor is accountable for the supervision of Waste Driver / Operators, daily task allocations and work activities, including maintaining vehicle fleet documentation, client and other contractor liaison, and prioritising work efforts. This is a higher tempo environment, but with much autonomy and scope for initiative and the use of an effective leadership style.

Associated Tasks Include

• Oversee day-to-day operations, providing frontline leadership to operators and coordinating plant, equipment and workshop activities
• Lead the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of waste management services across the site
• Coordinate waste collection, segregation, transport and disposal, ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, site procedures and client requirements.
• Ensure pre-starts, post-run inspections and routine maintenance are completed to maintain equipment reliability and minimise operational disruptions
• Lead pre-start meetings, toolbox talks and task-based risk assessments, exercising stop-work authority where required
• Monitor operational targets, workforce and asset utilisation, equipment movements and daily activities to maximise productivity
• Coordinate staffing rosters, leave approvals and resource allocation to maintain adequate operational coverage
• Ensure personnel competency, verification of competency (VOC) compliance and the safe operation of mobile plant and equipment
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management to build a capable and safety-focused team
• Maintain accurate waste manifests, tracking documentation, production reports and safety records
• Maintain high housekeeping standards across waste handling and storage areas
• Build strong customer relationships, support the leadership team with complex operational matters and drive continuous improvement in safety, service delivery and operational efficiency

About You Our ideal candidate will be an experienced supervisor, confident in tasking others and overseeing personnel in a positive and supportive style, ideally within the Energy & Resources or Waste Management sectors, with exceptional interpersonal skills. Proven leadership is the key element, as waste knowledge will be provided to the successful applicant if not from a waste background.

• HR Licence (essential)
• Dangerous Goods (DG) Licence (essential)
• Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
• 2+ year's experience in a similar supervisory role
• Experience managing conflict and resolving employee-related issues
• Understanding and experience managing HR-related matters
• Computer confidence and strong IT literacy
• Eligibility to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
