Operations Supervisor Trainee

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on, motivated Operations Supervisor Trainee to oversee daily recycling plant operations. This individual will lead employees, coordinate material flow, maintain safety standards, and ensure production goals are met in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday - 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Salary

$45,000 - $55,000 annual salary, based on experience, qualifications, and industry knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations involving ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals.
• Lead, train, and develop yard, processing, and equipment operators.
• Promote and enforce all safety and environmental policies.
• Monitor production, material quality, and inventory accuracy.

· Schedule and assign daily work activities

• Ensure equipment is operated safely and efficiently.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Communicate effectively with management, dispatch, scale house and personnel.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased productivity.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory experience in recycling, scrap metal, manufacturing, warehousing, or industrial operations is a plus.
• Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work in an outdoor industrial environment year-round.
• Experience with forklifts, loaders, excavators, cranes, or material handling equipment is a plus.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
