About the Role

As our Purchasing and Logistics department grows, we're looking for a hands-on Operations Support Assistant to support day-to-day warehouse, fulfillment, and shipping operations. This role will start with order fulfillment and inventory responsibilities with a direct impact on purchasing and vendor coordination. Department: Purchasing and Logistics - supporting 10 offices across 4 states
Reports To: Purchasing and Logistics Manager
Location: In-office only - 16950 Westfield Park Rd. Westfield, IN 46074
Job Type: Full-Time: Hourly
Schedule: 40 hours weekly with some overtime opportunities
Paid Holidays: 9 and a paid day off on your birthday if it falls on a regular workday
Compensation: $24 /hr.

What You'll Do- You’ll make an immediate impact by:

● Following all safety procedures, OSHA regulations, company policies, and participate in safety meetings and training.
● Serve as a liaison between the Purchasing & Logistics Manager and 10 regional offices throughout the Midwest.
● Navigate our core systems: FSS, Inc. Online Pest Control Products Store, Finale Inventory, and ShipStation.
● Pick, package, and ship orders to regional offices and direct to customers.
● Develop product knowledge to support accurate order fulfillment.
● Assist with loading and unloading LTL trucks, verifying shipment contents against purchase orders and packing slips and reporting any damage or discrepancies promptly.
● Count and organize warehouse inventory to maintain accuracy and orders; identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.
● Keep product locations organized, labeled, and clean and manage product rotation.
● Forklift experience is a plus; willing to train the right candidate.

As your skills develop you will make an impact in several more areas by:

● Setting up LTL and FTL shipments using carrier platforms.
● Acquire Hazmat certification and learn UN descriptions for Restricted Use Pesticide shipments.
● Communicate directly with customers regarding products and orders.
● Assist with purchasing, inventory reporting and supplier coordination.
● Suggest and implement process improvements to boost efficiency, accuracy, and safety.
● Assist with special projects, reports, and other tasks as assigned by management.

What We're Looking For

● A strong safety background.
● Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced
warehouse environment.
● Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
● Clear communicator, comfortable interacting with internal departments and regional offices in Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, and Ohio.
● The ability to learn multiple software systems.
● Strong understanding of how inventory and product movement affect profitability.
● Prior warehouse or logistics experience is a plus, but our excellent training program allows us to consider all applicants.
● Must complete a pre-employment background check and Motor Vehicle Record review.
● Must complete a pre-employment drug screening. FSS, Inc. uses current Federal standards when measuring drug screening results, not state laws. You will be placed in a random drug screening pool.

Growth Path

This role is designed to grow. As you master core fulfillment and warehouse duties, the Shipping and Logistics Manager will assign you increasing responsibilities in purchasing, vendor and carrier coordination, hazmat-regulated shipping, and direct customer communication with the opportunity to grow into a more senior purchasing or logistics role over time.

Pay: From $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
