Operations Technician

Education/experience  High school diploma or equivalent

 Two years’ process operating experience preferred. Experience with mechanical equipment and mechanical aptitude.

Job Responsibilities  Responsible for daily operation of assigned plant unit. Monitors and controls the process for safe, efficient production of quality products.

 Take responsibility for maintaining a clean and safe work area with zero discharge to environment and maintain skills in firefighting and first aid.

 Control plant operations for maximum return on investment, product quality and safety.

 Suggest process improvements to maximize productivity, efficiency and environmentally enhance plant operation.

 Teach and instruct other Technicians as required during personnel rotations and training of new Technicians.

 Lubricate, adjust and maintain assigned equipment.

 Recognize abnormal operation and take corrective action according to general instructions. Obtain assistance from a Senior Technician or Operating Assistant if normal instructions are insufficient.

 Read, write and record operating data.

 Must have ability to do math to provide accurate plant chemical usages and inventories.

 Read, write and record maintenance data, and other information associated with assigned process unit, judging accuracy and completeness of data.

 Perform diversified manufacturing, shipping, laboratory or experimental operations according to instructions and standard procedures.

 Coordinate activities with other personnel and assist as appropriate.

Working Environment And Physical Requirements  Ability to wear personal protective equipment

 Requires lifting 50 pounds

 Ability to work outdoors

 Ability to work overtime, nights and weekends - Working schedule is 12-hour shifts rotating between days and nights - 24/7 operation

 Valid driver's license required
