JOB OVERVIEW

Capacity Planning & Space Optimization

• Maximize utilization of ULDs to achieve cost efficiency
• Proactively engage carriers to secure capacity based on customer volume
• Negotiate competitive ad-hoc rates

Compliance, Risk & Cost Control

• Ensure compliance with operational and regulatory requirements
• Reduce operational risks through accurate planning and proper validation
• Maintain cost efficiency and control

Communication & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate with Customer Service (CS), warehouse, procurement, and carriers
• Ensure smooth, aligned, and predictable operations
• Maintain clear and timely communication among stakeholders

Strategic Planning

• Secure advance capacity based on historical trends
• Analyze market conditions and forecasts
• Manage Block Space Agreements (BSA) and carrier contracts effectively

Daily Operations & Issue Resolution

• Handle day-to-day carrier issues and provide solutions
• Resolve operational challenges promptly
• Propose alternative solutions (routes, cost, transit time) to CS when needed
• Monitor and update shipment status for visibility and accuracy

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and optimize cargo capacity to maximize ULD utilization and cost efficiency

• Coordinate with airline carriers to secure capacity in line with customer demand

• Negotiate ad-hoc rates and manage operational costs effectively

• Ensure compliance with operational procedures, regulatory requirements, and company policies

• Monitor shipment execution and maintain accurate status visibility

• Resolve operational issues promptly and provide alternative solutions when required

• Collaborate with Customer Service, warehouse, procurement, and carriers to ensure smooth operations

• Any other tasks as and when assigned by management.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Achieve high ULD utilization and minimize wasted capacity
• Secure adequate capacity to meet shipment requirements and forecasted demand
• Manage Block Space Agreements (BSA) and carrier allocations effectively
• Ensure accurate planning to reduce operational risk and discrepancies
• Maintain cost control through efficient planning and negotiation
• Provide timely shipment updates and ensure visibility across stakeholders
• Support continuous improvement in operational and cost performance

FUNCTION/ BUSINESS ACUMEN

• Strong understanding of air freight operations and carrier management
• Knowledge of capacity planning, load optimization, and rate structures
• Ability to analyze demand trends, forecasting data, and market conditions
• Good commercial awareness to balance cost, service, and operational requirements
• Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements in logistics
• Data-driven and analytical approach to decision-making

QUALIFICATIONS

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and operational systems

EDUCATION AND/ OR EXPERIENCE

• Education can be compensated with relevant working experience.
• Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
• Relevant experience in air freight operations, carrier coordination, or capacity planning preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Office-based role within a logistics operations environment
• Requires coordination with global carriers across different time zones
• May require extended working hours during peak periods or operational disruptions
• Frequent interaction with internal teams and external service providers
