Operator B Carpet Cushion - Laminator 3rd Shift

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for an Operator B/ Laminator (machine operator) on our 3rd shift team. This position is located at our manufacturing plant in Temple, Tx.

As an Operator B - Laminator, you will drive manufacturing excellence by safely setting up, running, and monitoring specialized laminating equipment. In this mid-level operator role, you will be responsible for maintaining high safety standards while ensuring production volumes and product quality consistently meet company benchmarks. Initial 4–6-week training on 1st shift while full team is onboarded. Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operational excellence.

Position Description:

• Set trimmer blades to the desired width, rack up laminating poly, and adjust the hot roller gap based on product specifications.
• Laminate poly to carpet cushion rolls and manage the roll stamper for stamps.
• Perform visual inspections of the machine, watch the side trim, and continuously monitor production for defects.
• Re-tape the hot roller as needed, clean the treater, and perform minor maintenance troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with the accumulator operator regarding all upcoming size changes.
• Document any machine downtime accurately throughout the shift.
• Safely handle and move rolls of carpet cushion weighing up to 80 pounds with team assistance.
• Maintain an orderly, clean, and hazard-free work area.

Skills / Requirements

• Highschool or GED
• Ability to read a basic tape measure
• Must have basic reading, writing, and math skills
• Must be able to perform heavy lifting, up to 80lbs.
