Position Summary Operator - Coating, Capsulation and Inspection

Location: Dubai Industrial City, Dubai, UAE

Reporting To: Executive - Tablet & Liquid Manufacturing

Role Context and Purpose

As part of a greenfield pharmaceutical manufacturing setup, the Operator - Compression, Coating & Inspection plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of tablet compression, coating, and inspection processes. The role is responsible for maintaining Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), equipment operation, and quality control to ensure that tablets meet regulatory and quality standards. The incumbent will focus on operating compression and coating machines, conducting in-process inspections, and ensuring adherence to SOPs for pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate tablet compression machines (single/double rotary, high-speed press) as per SOPs and batch manufacturing records (BMR).
• Perform tablet coating operations using automated and manual coating systems, ensuring uniform coating application.
• Conduct visual and automated tablet inspection to identify defects, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
• Set up, calibrate, and maintain compression, coating, and inspection equipment for optimal performance.
• Monitor tablet weight, hardness, thickness, friability, and coating integrity during production.
• Maintain accurate production documentation, logbooks, and batch records as per regulatory requirements.
• Follow GMP, cGMP, and SOPs to ensure safe and efficient manufacturing processes.
• Work closely with the QA, QC, and engineering teams to address deviations and troubleshooting issues.
• Ensure proper cleaning and changeover machines between batches, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.
• Ensure adherence to environmental health and safety (EHS) regulations.
• Participate in audits and regulatory inspections by providing required documentation and compliance records.
• Coordinate with warehouse and supply chain teams to ensure the availability of raw materials and coatings.
• Assist in continuous process improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce wastage.

CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION

EXPERIENCE + EXPOSURE + EDUCATION

• Education: High school diploma / ITI / Diploma in Pharmaceutical, Chemical, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 2-5 years in tablet compression, coating, or inspection in a pharmaceutical manufacturing setup.

• Understanding of GMP, SOPs, and quality control in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
