Job Overview:

The Underground Operator at Primoris Services Corporation operates heavy equipment to perform trenching, excavation, and backfilling activities for underground utility construction projects, ensuring safety and efficiency.

Job Responsibilities:**
* Operate excavators, backhoes, trenchers, and other heavy equipment for the installation and repair of underground utilities (e.g., gas lines, water pipes, fiber optics).
* Read and interpret blueprints, locate utility lines, and understand project specifications to ensure accurate excavation.
* Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment, including fluid checks, to ensure safe and efficient operation.
* Monitor equipment performance and identify any mechanical issues, reporting them to supervisors.
* Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and implementing traffic control measures.
* Coordinate with ground crew and other team members to ensure smooth workflow and project completion.
* Assist with manual labor as needed, including digging, lifting, and moving materials.
* Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment.
* Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and clients.

Job Qualifications:**
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Proven experience (minimum 2 years) operating heavy equipment for underground utility construction.
* Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record preferred.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and utility maps.
* Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations related to excavation and utility installation.
* Physical ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, and work in various weather conditions.
* Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus.
