Ophthalmic Technician – Job Summary

An Ophthalmic Technician at Takle Eye Group supports ophthalmologists and optometrists in delivering patient eye care. This role combines clinical skills, patient interaction, and administrative tasks in a fast-paced medical setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary patient workups (medical history, vision tests, intraocular pressure, etc.)
• Assist doctors during eye exams and minor procedures
• Conduct diagnostic testing (e.g., visual fields, OCT imaging)
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain ophthalmic equipment
• Educate patients on treatments, medications, and follow-up care
• Accurately document patient information in electronic medical records (EMR)
• Ensure smooth patient flow throughout the clinic

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in ophthalmology or healthcare is a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with medical software

Work Environment

• Clinical/medical office setting
• Standing and moving between exam rooms frequently
• Direct interaction with patients of all ages
