Ophthalmic Technician

Manhattan Eye is a cutting-edge private ophthalmology practice located in the heart of Manhattan. We are dedicated to delivering the highest standard of personalized, boutique-style eye care across a full spectrum of services.

We are currently seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Part-Time Ophthalmic Technician to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who is eager to grow, contribute, and thrive in a dynamic, patient-focused environment.

Technician responsibilities:

• Perform patient workups, including medical history intake and chart completion.

• Perform and assist with diagnostic testing such as: IPL/RF, IOLmaster, OCT, AutoRx, Lensmaster, Topography, HVF, UBM, and others.

• Assist the ophthalmologist during in-office procedures and minor surgeries

• Educate patients about medications, treatments, and post-visit care

• Attend to patient medical inquiries via phone and email as needed, especially during off-site days.

• Records abnormalities in pupils/peripheral vision and/or extraocular muscle movement

• Administration of eyedrops, glaucoma testing, ophthalmic photography

Requirements:

-Medical experience

-Experience with any online practice management systems- Nextech EHR Software, preferred.

-Excellent ophthalmic technician skills

-Interested in a growth-based position where they can get a bonus based on procedures

In-Office:

• 2-3 days of the week, depending on the need. Employee MUST be flexible for the in-person days.
• Office Hours: 7:45AM to 5:00PM or until 6:30PM.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• ophthalmic technician: 1 year (Preferred)

Language:

• English (Required)
• Spanish (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Certified Ophthalmic Technician (Preferred)
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (Preferred)
