Ophthalmic/Optometry Technician

Ophthalmic Technician (Back Office) Visionary Eye Institute | Part-Time  Whittier, Huntington Park & West Covina, CA About Us Visionary Eye Institute is a multi-location ophthalmology practice serving communities across Los Angeles County. We provide comprehensive eye care, from routine exams to advanced medical and surgical treatment, with a focus on patient-centered care and clinical excellence. Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Back Office Ophthalmic Technician to support our physicians in delivering high-quality patient care. The technician works up patients, performs diagnostic testing, and keeps clinic flow running smoothly so providers can focus on care. We have both part-time and full-time opportunities available.  Key Responsibilities

• Room patients and take accurate histories, including chief complaint, medications, allergies, and ocular/medical history
• Perform visual acuity, refraction/manifest refraction, pupil exams, confrontation visual fields, and IOP measurement (tonometry)
• Administer dilating drops and other ophthalmic medications as directed by the physician
• Perform diagnostic testing such as OCT, visual fields (Humphrey), fundus photography, A-scan/biometry, topography, and pachymetry
• Scribe and document accurately in the EHR during patient encounters
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain, clean, and calibrate ophthalmic equipment
• Assist with in-office procedures and minor surgical prep as needed
• Educate patients on testing, procedures, and post-visit instructions
• Maintain patient flow and communicate effectively with front office and physicians
• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control standards
