Optical Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support in the optical practice, assisting both customers and optometrists with various tasks related to eye care and eyewear.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their needs and preferences.
• Conduct preliminary tests such as lens measurements.
• Prepare and dispense optical products, ensuring accuracy in prescriptions.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of retail areas.
• Collaborate with optometrists to ensure seamless patient care throughout their visit.
• Provide education to customers regarding proper eyewear care and usage.
• Stay updated on new products, technologies, and industry trends to better assist clients.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an optical setting is preferred.
• Understanding of basic anatomy as it relates to eye care is beneficial but not essential.
• Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills are essential for success in this role.
