What they need
Celare Quantum Communications is a Danish high-tech quantum technology company with a mission to radically improve cybersecurity and enable trusted global data sharing.
Our core product is a unique, cutting-edge technology born from years of university research called Continuous-Variable Quantum Key Distribution (CV-QKD). This technology enables post-quantum secure key exchange for protecting sensitive data across critical infrastructure.
Celare partners with local and international governments, telecom operators, data centers, banks, defense ministries, and leading academic institutions. Over the past year our team has successfully launched commercial pilot deployments of our technology.
The Celare Team
We are a highly specialized and ambitious team of quantum engineers, serial entrepreneurs, laser, RF and electronics specialists, mathematicians, software engineers, and IC and FPGA designers.
Based in Copenhagen, we combine deep academic expertise with hands-on experience in launching complex, high-impact technology products.
The Role
In this role you will get a unique opportunity to work at the cutting edge of quantum technology development. You will be part of a small team of optical engineers responsible for optical development and test activities in the company. You will have a key role in our Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) development activities as a technical point of contact with our development partners.
As part of a small and agile organization, you will contribute across the full product lifecycle — from early architectural decisions and prototyping to production and large-scale deployment. You will work both in collaboration with our team and independently as a specialist, sharing knowledge across disciplines.
This is a hands-on role with real responsibility and influence. It offers work with an international, multilingual and multicultural dynamic team with direct connection to academic research and bleeding-edge technologies.
The role is situated on site in our Copenhagen headquarters.
Responsibilities
- Leading and carrying out various PIC development activities
- Planning and execution of PIC test activities
- Development of optical subsystems for our CV-QKD and Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG) products
- Maintaining and extending the company’s optical laboratories
- Contributing specialist knowledge and collaborating to make the team excel at product development
Qualifications
- MSc or PhD in optics or similar
- 5+ years of work experience
- Experience with conducting experiments in fiber and/or free-space optics
- Experience with PIC technology and development
- Hands-on experience working with digital/analog electronics
- (Optional) Experience in using quantum theory
We Offer
This full-time position offers the opportunity to build and shape the future of quantum communication in collaboration with an experienced and dynamic team. We provide individual growth plans aligned with your personal preferences and motivation. We offer competitive compensation, depending on qualifications.
