Optical Engineering

Job Summary:

The Optical Engineering is a technical leadership and also management position requiring innovation, technical competency and people management skill. This role requires an ability to work well with internal functions, contract manufacturing teams, and customers with strong both management and leadership skills. The main focus may consist of leading the product engineering team, project leadership team and manage new product deployment into manufacturing through contract manufacturing management.

With optical knowledge understand for EDFA Optical Amplifier product is prefer.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead NPI engineers to define Level 2/3 plan to match overall project plan. Own derivate design
• Define tooling requirement including coordinating with CM for the new process setup of NPI projects.
• Manage the local extended team to provide appropriate support to NPI product. Provide problem solving and assist both CM and the company team to ensure on time delivery.
• Drive team for the gate exit delivery and submit operational function review.
• Close opened items and ensure knowledge transfer including RMA support from NPI phase to Mass phase.
• Support CM to provide output as expectation and their commitment to meet business requirement.
• Guide CM to solve technical issues in the production line and Coach CM engineering team to Ensure capacity and capability of production line could support product delivery with quality and competitive cost.
• Advise and supervise CM for product yield/process improvement/RMA
• Review/approve/provide feedback for document related to manufacturing which have been released to CM.
• Work with design team and provide Optical technical knowledge support for MFG Product and Process engineer.
• Understand of Optical and test requirement form Design then work with Test engineer for support recipe development.
• Provide training and work with CM to troubleshooting for rework and technical guideline to improve yields to support for delivery.
• Provide justification for Product and process reequipment from design to MFG engineer on both CM and the company.

Education

• Bachelor Degree (or higher) in Optics, Telecommunication or equivalent technical discipline from an accredited college or university
• 5 years (or higher) of working experience in manufacturing or a related industry.
