What they need
Job Overview Premier Vision Laboratory is a 19-year-old, Utah-based wholesale manufacturing facility with a mission to help people see better in this world. We produce prescription eyeglass lenses for eye doctors and their patients throughout the Mountain West.
In our lab, precision and attention to detail are critical. Because we create medical devices that directly impact a patient’s quality of life, we need team members who take immense pride in "getting it right the first time." While prior optical experience is welcome, it is not required—we are looking for a mechanically inclined team player with a positive attitude who is eager to learn a specialized trade.
Schedule & Flexibility
- Work Week: Monday through Friday.
- Hours: 35–40 hours per week.
- Flexibility: While typical hours are 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, we offer flexibility with start and end times to accommodate our employees’ schedules.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation: Operate automated machinery to fabricate, edge, and finish high-quality prescription lenses.
- Extreme Precision: Perform detailed laboratory procedures where accuracy is paramount to ensuring the perfect prescription for the patient.
- Cross-Training: Master multiple stations within the lab; we value employees who are willing to learn and operate every piece of equipment in the manufacturing process.
- Quality Control: Conduct rigorous inspections on finished products to meet strict industry standards and our own high-quality benchmarks.
- Lab Maintenance: Help maintain a clean, organized, and calibrated laboratory environment.
The Ideal Candidate
- Detail-Focused: You have a sharp eye for small details and a commitment to precision.
- Mechanically Inclined: You are comfortable working with machinery and enjoy hands-on, technical work.
- Physically Capable: This is an active manufacturing role. You must be able to stand for long periods of time and handle small, precision components.
- Positive Attitude: You get along well with others and contribute to a supportive, professional team culture.
- Reliable: You are a consistent worker looking for a stable, long-term position with an established company.
Benefits & Perks
We take care of our team. Here's what you can look forward to when you join us:
- Vision Coverage New eyeglass lenses provided at no cost to you — plus a 50% discount on lenses for friends and family.
- Regular Paid Breaks Paid 15-minute break every two hours — built into your shift, not squeezed around it.
- Flexible Scheduling We work with your life. Flexible start and stop times available.
- 401(k) with Employer Match (eligible after 2 years) We invest in your future. Matching contributions available after two years of service.
- Paid Time Off (begins after 2 months) Start accruing PTO quickly — earn up to 10 days per year (1 hour for every 26 hours worked).
- Paid Holidays (begins after 3 months) Enjoy paid holidays: 4 hours for part-time and 8 hours for full-time employees per holiday.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
