Optical System Algorithm Sr. Engineer/Technical Manager

• Defining architectures of electrical and optical SerDes transceivers that comply with IEEE and OIF standards. Building end-to-end link models covering the TX/RX chain across EIC, optical/fiber channel, and PIC (e.g., MRM, PD), evaluating link budget and signal quality, and conducting simulations for performance benchmarking and sign-off. 2. Developing DSP architectures and algorithms such as calibration and compensation of optical and electrical impairments, synchronization and gain control loops, and adaptive equalizers. 3. Collaborating with circuit, photonics, hardware, and verification teams for product development and ensuring the outcome meets performance and power targets.

Main Requirements and Qualifications

• 1. MS or PhD in Photonics, Electro-Optical Engineering, EE, or Communications.
• 2. Strong knowledge of optical/fiber communication systems, including device characteristics and the modeling and compensation of optical and electrical impairments
• 3. Knowledge of digital signal processing and practical implementations.
• 4. Proficiency in C/C++ and MATLAB (Python a plus)
• 5. Familiarity with industrial wired/optical communication specifications (IEEE 802.3, OIF-CEI, CPRI/eCPRI, etc.).
• 6. Experience in algorithm development for one or more of the following:
• a. Ethernet 56G/112G/224G/448G PAM4 SerDes, Optical DSP, EIC
• b. DSP for optical/fiber communication (IM-DD, coherent, coherent-lite) and impairment control
• c. FEC and low-latency coding for optical links
• d. Co-packaged optics (CPO), near-packaged optics (NPO), or linear-drive optics (LPO/LRO) system design
• e. Mixed-signal design with digital-assisted calibration
• 7. Preferred qualifications:
• a. OFC/ECOC or IEEE publications
• b. Experience in photonic device measurement, optical equipment control and lab setup
