Job type: Full-time

Pay: $16–$20 per hour, commensurate with experience, plus monthly commission and bonus opportunities. An optical certification will mean a higher salary. A strong sales optician may earn an additional $5,000–$10,000 per year.

About Riverfront Eyecare

Riverfront Eyecare is a busy optometry practice with two full-time optometrists who see more than 25 eye examinations on a typical day. We are seeking an experienced, sales-oriented optician who delivers excellent patient service and can confidently help patients select eyewear that fits their prescription, lifestyle, and preferences.

What You’ll Do

· Guide patients in selecting frames, lenses, coatings, and other eyewear options based on prescriptions, lifestyle, comfort, and personal preferences.

· Take accurate optical measurements and ensure proper frame fit and adjustment.

· Explain lens features, pricing, insurance benefits, and available options clearly and professionally.

· Manage eyewear orders, verify completed products for accuracy and quality, and dispense eyewear to patients.

· Perform frame adjustments, minor repairs, and follow-up service.

· Support practice sales goals while maintaining a patient-first approach.

· Maintain organized displays, inventory, records, and a clean optical area.

· Collaborate with the optometrists and office team to provide efficient, friendly service in a fast-paced environment.

· Be cross-trained to perform all office-based tasks further enhancing your overall eye care associate skills and enhancing your future.

Qualifications

· Prior optician experience is required.

· Demonstrated skill in eyewear sales, frame styling, optical measurements, fitting, and adjustments.

· Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.

· Comfort working with patients and managing multiple priorities in a busy optometry office.

· Dependable, detail-oriented, professional, and team-focused.

· Knowledge of vision plans, optical ordering, and practice-management or point-of-sale systems is preferred.

Schedule

· Monday through Friday

· Occasional Saturday half-day

· No late nights

· No Sundays
