Optician

Smoke Vision Care is in search of an Optician to join their team of dedicated eyecare professionals. An Optician's primary responsibility is the selection, fitting and dispensing of eyeglasses that are appropriate for the patient's prescription and visual needs ensuring the patient sees and looks their very best.

The ideal candidate should possess a friendly, professional, outgoing, enthusiastic attitude. This new team member must be reliable, enjoy serving others, and have a longing to be the best and work for the best.

Our office is a fast paced, energizing environment that requires multi-tasking ability. A positive attitude, self-motivation, a willingness to learn and the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing health care environment is needed for success.

Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive optical care including patient assessment, eyewear fitting, and frame selection to meet individual needs.
• Dispense spectacle lenses, perform eyewear adjustments, and ensure proper fit for comfort and vision accuracy.
• Deliver exceptional patient service, educate patients on lens options, frame maintenance, and care instructions.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and EHR entries; manage frame and merchandise inventory.
• Work closely with optometrist and other team members to provide an excellent patient experience.

All candidates must be willing to work one evening until 7:00 pm EST and a minimum of two Saturdays per month from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT (per ADA guidelines):

• Physical Activity: Standing, Walking, Stooping, Grasping, Typing, and Manual dexterity. The worker is required to have visual and verbal acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds on a regular basis from floor to waist, 5 pounds from waist to shoulder, and 5 pounds from shoulder to overhead.
• Work Environment: Professional medical office environment.

Pay: Up to $19.00 per hour
