Optician

American Fork Vision Center is a long-standing, patient-focused family eye care practice looking to add a dependable and personable individual to our optical team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a collaborative environment, and takes pride in delivering excellent service.

No prior optometry experience is required. We provide hands-on training for the right candidate.

Schedule

• Weekdays: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Rotating Saturdays (approximately two per month): 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Compensation & Benefits

• Starting pay: $18.00 per hour
• Pay increases as skills, responsibilities, and competencies grow

What You’ll Do

• Greet patients and assist with check-in procedures
• Confirm insurance details and process vision plans
• Guide patients through frame and lens selection
• Verify and interpret eyewear prescriptions
• Assist with contact lens education and insertion training
• Fit, adjust, and dispense eyewear
• Process payments and complete checkout
• Answer phone calls and support daily office operations as needed

What We’re Looking For

• Friendly, motivated, and detail-oriented
• Comfortable juggling multiple tasks in a busy setting
• Strong customer service mindset
• Basic math proficiency
• Ability to learn new systems and procedures quickly
• Prior retail, sales, or customer-facing experience is helpful but not required
• High school diploma or equivalent
