We are small, indepedent optometry/optical boutique that has been in business for 43 years. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment dedicated to improving vision health and enhancing customer satisfaction. Responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting eyewear frames and lenses that meet their style preferences and vision needs, ensuring optimal fit and comfort through precise eyewear fittings and frame adjustments
• Dispense spectacle lenses accurately by applying your knowledge of optics, as well spectacle lens dispensing and optical laboratory techniques
• Operate POS systems and cash registers efficiently to process sales transactions while maintaining accuracy in retail math calculations
• Maintain detailed medical records and electronic health records (EHR/EMR), ensuring compliance with clinical confidentiality policies and HIPAA regulations
• Educate patients on proper eyewear care, contact lens usage, and relevant health regulation policies, emphasizing clinical confidentiality policies and medical terminology
• If licensed - Support laboratory tasks such as eyewear frame adjustments, lens cutting, and quality control to ensure high standards of optical products before delivery

Requirements

• Proven retail sales experience with a strong focus on customer service excellence in an optical or healthcare setting
• Hands-on laboratory experience with spectacle lens dispensing, eyewear fittings, frame adjustments, and optical laboratory procedures
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems, POS systems, and cash register operations for seamless transaction processing
• Understanding of state healthcare regulations, HIPAA compliance standards, clinical confidentiality policies, and medical records management
• Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for retail transactions and optical measurements
• Experience working with pediatric populations or senior care environments is a plus
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to patients of diverse backgrounds

Pay: $27.00 - $36.00 per hour
