Optician - Optical Sales

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optician to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assist patients in selecting and fitting eyewear, dispense spectacle lenses, and provide exceptional customer service. Your expertise in optical sales and optical terminology, and dispensing and repair procedures will ensure patients receive accurate prescriptions and comfortable eyewear solutions. Responsibilities

• Candidate must be experienced in Optical sales.
• Conduct eyewear fittings, frame adjustments, and basic maintenance to ensure optimal visual correction and comfort.
• Dispense spectacle lenses accurately based on prescription and knowledge of optics principles.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient eyewear needs and to ensure the finished eyewear product meets company standards.
• Provide the ability to communicate complex information clearly and professionally by using your expertise to explain prescription terminology and product recommendations.
• Basic math skills for optical sales calculations, such as measurements, pricing, and insurance billing procedures.
• Must have basic knowledge of vision insurance and claims. VSP and Eyemed
• Seeking a team player attitude by supporting in checking in patients, booking appointments, collecting payments, and patient checkout.
• Cross-train to assist in other areas within the office.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems, POS operations, and medical records management.

• NYS Licensed Preferred but not required and willing to train the right candidate with optical experience

Pay: $25.00 - $38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
