Optician / Optometric Assistant

About Us

At Laguna Heights Optometry, we have been serving families and the community of Laguna Niguel for more than 20 years. We are a patient-focused private optometry practice dedicated to providing outstanding eye care and personalized services. We are looking for a long-term, dependable, and friendly personality to join our team, strongly preferring previous optical/optometry experience. The practice is open Tuesday - Saturday. Candidates must be able to work SATURDAYS (shorter business hours).

We are looking for someone who can bring strong optical knowledge and excellent patient and customer care. **All staff are cross-trained to manage the front office, optometry pretesting, and optical sales (glasses and contacts).**

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and schedule appointments
• Answer phones and assist with front desk duties
• Verify patient information and insurance benefits
• Conduct patient pretesting and prepare patients for exams
• Assist clientele with frame styling and lens recommendations
• Handle eyewear and contact lens orders, adjustments, and repairs
• Support the doctors and team to ensure excellent patient care

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in optometry/optical (preferred)
• Strong sales and styling ability
• Warm, polished, and professional communication and customer service skills
• Detail-oriented and proactive
• Professional appearance and positive attitude

Preferred

• Experience with vision/medical insurance plans, including VSP, EyeMed
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR)
• Optical or luxury retail experience
• Experience with premium lens products

Schedule
