Responsibilities

• Dispense spectacle lenses and assist with eyewear fittings, adjustments, and frame selections to ensure optimal comfort and vision correction for patients.
• Manage retail sales of eyewear products, including frame selection, sales transactions using POS systems or cash registers, and providing excellent customer service.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, health regulation policies, state healthcare laws, and clinical confidentiality policies at all times during patient interactions and record handling.
• Support clinic operations by maintaining accurate medical coding for billing purposes and updating medical records efficiently.

Experience

• Previous retail optometry or ophthalmology clinic experience is highly required.
• Strong knowledge of optics, anatomy of the eye, physiology principles related to vision health, and medical terminology relevant to eye care.
• Hands-on laboratory experience with spectacle lens dispensing, eyewear frame adjustment, and optical laboratory equipment operation.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for managing patient records.
• Understanding of health regulation policies including HIPAA compliance, medical coding standards, and clinic safety protocols.
• Experience in retail sales environments with proficiency in POS systems and cash register operations.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for measurements, prescriptions, and billing purposes.
• Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to patient engagement and support in a clinical setting.

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
