As an Optician Technician, you will assist in selecting eyewear and perform preliminary eye assessments. Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting eyeglasses and contact lenses that meet their prescription needs and lifestyle preferences
• Conduct basic eye assessments, including measuring visual acuity
• Laboratory tasks, including lens fitting and adjustments
• Maintain accurate medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper documentation of patient information
• Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) as well as filing vision claims
• Assist team with answering phones and scheduling appointments
• Manage retail sales of eyewear products, applying retail math skills to ensure accurate transactions and inventory management
• keep optical equipment and work areas clean and organized

Skills

• Experience with optical equipment, laboratory procedures, and medical billing
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients , including pediatrics and senior care patients
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy at all times
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Eagerness to learn and grow
