Bettner Vision

About Us
Bettner Vision is a family optometry practice in Colorado Springs built on a foundation of clinical excellence, professionalism, and genuine patient care. We hold our team to high standards, and we are looking for a leader who shares that commitment.
The Role
This is a leadership position. We are looking for someone who is ready to lead a clinical team, drive accountability, and set the professional tone for the entire practice. The Lead Optometric Technician reports directly to the Director of Operations and is responsible for upholding all practice policies, processes, and procedures at all times.
What You Will Be Responsible For
As the Lead Technician, you will oversee the technician team's day-to-day performance, manage daily patient flow and technician assignments, and lead onboarding and ongoing training for all clinical staff. You will perform the full scope of optometric pretesting — including Optos imaging, OCT, corneal topography, visual fields, and more — while holding your team to the same standard of clinical accuracy.
You will be expected to enforce and maintain high standards of HIPAA compliance across the team without exception, ensure all documentation meets practice and regulatory requirements, and keep the clinical areas clean, organized, and fully ready for every patient encounter, including thorough end-of-day cleaning of the pretest and exam rooms nightly. Compliance with OSHA standards and Colorado State Board of Optometry regulations is non-negotiable.
Leadership here also means flexibility. You will model a cooperative, no-pushback attitude toward management direction and hold your team to the same expectation.
What We Are Looking For
You must have at least three years of optometric technician experience, including at least one year in a lead or training capacity. CPOT certification through the American Optometric Association is strongly preferred. The right candidate leads by example, maintains the highest professional standards, and takes genuine ownership of team performance.
To apply, submit your resume and a brief summary of your clinical and leadership experience.
