Optometric Technician

Overview

In this vital role, you will operate specialized diagnostic equipment, and support Optometrists in delivering exceptional eye care services. Your energetic, detail-oriented approach will ensure patients receive thorough assessments in a compassionate environment. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in Optometry and in an office setting. Dual responsibilities as front desk and technician.

Responsibilities

• Collect information for exam; including, operating pre-testing equipement, collect initial patient intake, gathering medical history and updating electronic health records (EHR).
• Checking in patients, verifying insurance information, collecting insurance co-pays, answering phones, scheduling patients, answering insurance questions.
• Provide excellent patient service by explaining procedures clearly, maintaining a welcoming environment, and ensuring patient comfort throughout visits.
• Proven ability to deliver excellent patient service with compassionate direct care skills.
• Prior experience working in a medical office setting or optometry clinic is highly preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with medical terminology related to eye anatomy and physiology enhances patient assessments. Preferred but not required.
• Experience operating ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment and electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance, clinical confidentiality policies, and maintaining patient confidentiality is essential.
• Uphold aseptic techniques during clinical procedures to prevent infection and maintain a safe clinical environment.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
