Optometric Technician

Our privately owned, independent optometry practice is searching for a personable, highly motivated individual to join our team as a full-time Optometric Technician.

Responsibilities:

• Manage patient flow and ensure efficient clinic operations
• Conduct preliminary testing
• Perform administrative tasks including patient scheduling, collecting payments, and taking phone calls
• Obtain vision insurance authorizations
• Perform retinal imaging and other diagnostic tests
• Lead contact lens insertion and removal training for first-time wearers
• Educate patients on contact lens care and eyewear options
• Ensure accurate record keeping
• Adhere strictly to HIPAA guidelines and regulations
• Maintain cleanliness of office and equipment

Qualifications:

• Spanish fluency required
• Previous experience as an optometric/ophthalmic technician or in a similar role preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Cash handling and customer service experience preferred

Pay: $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 – 34.0 per week
