Optometric Technicians – Refocus Eye Associates (Multiple Openings)

Pay: $14–$23/hour, depending on experience
Locations: Newport News and Williamsburg, VA (work at both offices)

About Us
Refocus Eye Associates is a friendly, patient-focused eye care practice with two offices, one in Newport News and one in Williamsburg. We're growing, and we're hiring several dependable, detail-oriented Optometric Technicians to join our team and help us deliver an excellent experience to every patient.

What You'll Do

Patient care

• Greet patients and bring them back to the exam room
• Take case histories and gather preliminary information
• Run pre-testing, including:
• Auto-refraction
• Non-contact tonometry (NCT)
• Optos retinal imaging
• Assist the optometrist during the exam and with patient flow

Office and insurance

• Verify patients' vision and medical insurance before appointments
• File and submit insurance claims
• Handle general front-office work: scheduling, answering phones, checking patients in and out, and keeping records up to date

What We're Looking For

• Friendly and professional, with strong communication skills
• Organized and detail-oriented, and able to handle several tasks at once
• Comfortable with computers and learning new software
• Reliable and punctual, and a good team player
• Reliable transportation and willingness to work at both our Newport News and Williamsburg offices, depending on the schedule
• Experience in optometry, ophthalmology, or a medical office is a plus, but we'll train the right people
