Optometric Technician/Optician- Normal, IL

Job Summary

Eyelation is a software company and prescription safety eyewear (PPE) provider with a focus and passion on corporate vision safety and wellness. We are looking for an experienced technician with optical experience to join our growing optical team in providing on-site vision testing to employees at locations in Normal, IL area 5 days per week.

On-site Event Responsibilities:

· 8-9 hour on-site shifts with 20-30 minute employee vision assessments using Topcon equipment (Chronos, Maestro OCT, etc.)

· Use of Eyelation software platform to submit employee data to telehealth network of licensed optometrists/ophthalmologists

· Employee measurement and frame fitting for prescription safety glasses

· On-site employee assistance with safety eyewear orders via Eyelation ecommerce website

· Frame selection guidance based upon prescription compatibility

Non-Event Days Responsibilities:

· Measure and fit people for safety glasses using our online software system

· Online order processing using company software programs

· Communication with manufacturing lab partners (when necessary)

· Answer customer service phone calls to address customer optical questions/order issues

· Answer customer service emails to address customer optical questions/order issues

· Process product returns or refunds via phone/email

Skills:

· Experience with visual acuity testing, OCT, slit lamp, optometric instruments

· Experience with PD (pupillary distance) and seg height measurements

· Familiarity with eyewear frame fitting procedures

· Optical equipment experience (autorefractor, lensometer, trial lens kits)

· Knowledge of prescription lenses

· Experience with troubleshooting customer prescription lens and/or vision issues

· Basic computer skills (email, excel, etc.)
