Optometrist Assistant

Roles and Responsibilities

• Assist optometrists in performing eye exams, including vision testing and prescribing glasses or contact lenses.
• Operate phacoemulsification equipment during surgical procedures such as cataract removal.
• Conduct refractions to determine the correct prescription for patients' glasses or contacts.
• Maintain accurate records of patient data, test results, and treatment plans.
• Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly to patient inquiries and concerns.

Desired Candidate Profile

• 2-7 years of experience in an optical store setting with a focus on ophthalmology or optometry.
• Strong understanding of optics principles, including refraction techniques and phacoemulsification procedures.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiency in using computers for record-keeping purposes (e.g., electronic health records).
