Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Optometrist to partner up with and join our team! KC Eye Co is located inside busy Costco warehouses including Independence and the new Lee's Summit location! We are looking for part-time help on Saturdays.

With Costco's loyal members and daily crowds, this help keeps our clinics booked solid.

Our clinics provides modern equipment including, Optos, OCT, and digital refracting.

Your expertise will help improve patients’ vision and overall eye health through personalized care and advanced diagnostic techniques.

Duties

• Diagnose eye conditions and disease states such as glaucoma, cataracts, and refractive errors utilizing ophthalmology knowledge and medical terminology
• Perform contact lens fittings, adjustments, and follow-up care to ensure optimal fit and comfort for patients
• Operate medical equipment safely and accurately, including slit lamps, tonometers, and other ophthalmic diagnostic tools
• Document all patient interactions, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Provide patient education on eye health, disease prevention, treatment options, and proper use of prescribed eyewear or contact lenses
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to manage complex cases involving disease management and treatment plans

Requirements

• Valid license in Missouri to practice as an Optometrist in the relevant jurisdiction with current certification in ophthalmology or optometry practice standards
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate record-keeping and documentation
• Excellent client communication skills to explain complex conditions clearly and empathetically
• Experience with contact lens fitting, disease state management, and patient care is highly desirable
