Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and patient-focused Optometrist to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for performing comprehensive eye examinations, assessing visual function, identifying ocular abnormalities, and providing appropriate vision-care recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye examinations and vision assessments.
• Conduct subjective and objective refraction.
• Perform visual acuity, keratometry, tonometry, and other basic optometric tests.
• Assess binocular vision, accommodation, and ocular motility.
• Assist ophthalmologists during patient evaluation and clinical procedures.
• Identify signs of common ocular conditions and appropriately refer patients to the ophthalmologist.
• Perform and assist with diagnostic investigations such as OCT, Pentacam, visual field, biometry, fundus examination, etc., as required.
• Educate patients regarding eye health, spectacles, contact lenses, and preventive eye care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative counselling when required.
• Ensure proper handling and maintenance of optometric equipment.
• Maintain high standards of patient care, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of clinical optometry and refraction.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient-friendly and professional approach.
• Ability to work effectively with ophthalmologists and clinical staff.
• Good documentation and computer skills.
• Knowledge of ophthalmic diagnostic equipment will be an advantage.

Preferred Candidate

• B.Optom / M.Optom
• Freshers can apply.
• Candidates with 1–3 years of clinical experience will be preferred.
• Experience in a multispecialty/superspecialty eye hospital or ophthalmology clinic is an added advantage.

Salary

₹15,000 – ₹30,000 per month, depending on qualification, experience, and skills.

Working Hours: As per hospital/clinic schedule
