The Role

We are looking for a passionate and customer-focused Optometrist to join our team across our Manchester stores. You will have the opportunity to work across our stores in Manchester, delivering exceptional eye care and creating a great customer experience.

As an Optometrist at Specscart, your role goes beyond performing refractions and eye examinations. You will have the opportunity to use your clinical expertise, knowledge, and core competencies to deliver an exceptional eye-care experience while helping us bridge the gap between clinical optometry and contemporary eyewear.

You will work closely with our in-store team to create a trusted and enjoyable experience for every customer. We are looking for someone who is passionate about patient care, takes pride in their clinical work, and encourages those around them to deliver the same high standard of service.

Responsibilities

• Build strong, long-lasting relationships with customers and provide a professional, welcoming, and trusted eye-care experience.
• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and consultations tailored to each customer's individual needs.
• Perform all clinical consultations and eye examinations in line with Specscart's clinical standards and procedures.
• Ensure a seamless customer journey from the eye examination through to the wider eyewear experience.
• Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, patient confidentiality, and clinical care.
• Follow GOC and relevant professional guidelines and maintain all required clinical and legal standards.
• Work closely with the store and management teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience and contribute to the growth of the business.
• Support and encourage colleagues to maintain high standards of customer service and clinical care.
• Stay up to date with developments in optometry, clinical practice, and new technologies.
• Contribute to continuous improvement within the practice and support a culture of learning and development.

Requirements

• Qualified and GOC-registered Optometrist.
• Experience working within a private optical practice or NHS setting.
• Strong commitment to providing an exceptional patient and customer experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Motivated, proactive, and focused on achieving both professional and personal goals.
• Ability to plan, prioritise, and manage workload effectively.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced retail environment.
• Ability to lead by example and encourage high standards across the team.
• Strong commitment to clinical governance, professional integrity, and regulatory compliance.
• Willingness to embrace new technology and contribute to innovation within the practice.
