We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Optometrist to join our well-established practice with 60 years of serving our community. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in ophthalmology, patient care, and medical diagnosis, with a commitment to providing the high-quality, personalized care our patients have come to expect. As an Optometrist, you will perform comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and manage various eye conditions, and deliver personalized treatment plans to improve patients' visual health and quality of life. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining the highest standards of patient care within a collaborative clinical environment. You will have an established patient panel and the opportunity to build a strong following quickly.

Duties

• Conduct thorough ophthalmic examinations utilizing diagnostic imaging equipment and tonometry to assess eye health.
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of eye conditions, including refractive errors, ocular diseases, and disease state management.
• Perform contact lens fittings and provide guidance on lens selection, care, and maintenance tailored to individual patient needs.
• Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) and electronic health records (EHR) systems to document patient histories, examination findings, and treatment plans accurately.
• Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and treatment options using clear communication tailored to diverse age groups, including pediatrics.
• Operate medical equipment safely and effectively while adhering to aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals for ophthalmic consultations, referrals, and comprehensive disease management strategies.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy related to ophthalmology, and current best practices in optometry.

Requirements

• Valid licensure as an Optometrist with relevant regulatory bodies; additional certification in ophthalmology is preferred.
• Proven experience in ophthalmology or optometry practice with proficiency in optical experience and medical treatment procedures.
• Strong understanding of medical coding practices related to eye care services for billing purposes.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation and efficient workflow management.
• Knowledge of ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment such as tonometers and other ophthalmic diagnostic tools.
• Excellent client communication skills with a focus on customer service and patient-centered care.
• Ability to interpret medical records accurately while maintaining strict compliance with HIPAA standards.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex cases involving disease state management and ophthalmic diagnosis.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development in areas such as pediatrics, disease management, and new ophthalmic technologies.
