Position Title: Optometrist
Organization: College of ophthalmology and allied vision sciences, Lahore

Reports To: Programme Manager

Qualification & Experience

• B.Sc. in Optometry from an HEC-recognized institution.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in a reputable clinic, healthcare facility, or hospital
• Salary will be offered based on the candidate’s qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the position.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Expertise in refraction, ophthalmoscopy, retinoscopy, slit-lamp examination, 90D lens examination, and cycloplegic refraction.
• Proficiency in handling ophthalmic equipment and independently managing a clinic/OPD.
• Knowledge of managing non-refractive eye conditions.
• Excellent report-writing and case-study skills.
• Fluency in spoken English and proficiency in basic computer skills.
• Ability to counsel patients, manage patient concerns, and refer patients appropriately.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and liaison skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with project staff, in-charges, and senior management.
• Proficiency in using Android smartphones and related applications.
• Willingness to travel independently to other districts.
• Flexibility to undertake six-monthly job rotations and work extended hours when required.
• Ability to manage patient workload efficiently, work under pressure, and maintain a polite and professional attitude.
