Optometrist

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Optometrist to join our team and provide excellent eye care services to our patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ophthalmology, patient care, and medical coding.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision and eye health
• Diagnose and treat visual problems, such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism
• Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other visual aids
• Detect and manage eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy
• Perform minor surgical procedures related to the eyes
• Educate patients on proper eye care techniques
• Maintain accurate medical records using electronic health record systems like Epic

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited school of optometry
• State licensure to practice optometry
• Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to the eyes
• Familiarity with medical coding and billing practices
• Experience with aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety during eye exams
• Excellent patient care skills with a focus on empathy and communication
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality
• Sales skills to recommend and sell eyewear products effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with medical records systems
• Familiarity with Epic EHR system

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $140,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
