Optometrist

Overview

As an Optometrist, you’ll provide thorough eye care, identify and manage eye conditions, and help patients understand their options. You’ll conduct examinations, interpret diagnostic findings, and recommend appropriate care for patients, including children. Your impact: Clear diagnoses and practical care plans help patients make informed decisions and support their vision health.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient examinations including vision assessments and review of vital signs as appropriate.
• Provide ophthalmic consultations, healthcare diagnosis, and disease state management; apply medical treatment knowledge and refer patients when needed.
• Fit contact lenses and explain care recommendations using clear, respectful client communication and strong customer service.
• Follow Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements, aseptic technique, and applicable medical coding and documentation practices.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry degree and active license required for the role’s practice location.
• Knowledge of optometry, ophthalmology, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and ophthalmic diagnosis.
• Experience with optical care, pediatrics, and medical equipment operation is valuable.
• Demonstrated patient care skills and ability to explain findings and treatment options clearly.

Pay: $70.00 - $100.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8.0 – 40.0 per week
