The Role

The OR Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing support before, during, and after surgical procedures, with assignments potentially including pre-operative, operating room, and recovery areas.

Essential Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, therapeutic nursing care according to established clinical standards, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct patient assessments, obtain nursing histories, monitor vital signs, and recognize changes in patient condition.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Prepare the OR and ensure necessary equipment and supplies are available.
• Assist surgeons and other clinical staff during procedures by providing instruments, supplies, and other support.
• Monitor patients throughout surgical procedures and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
• Operate a C-Arm/fluoroscope under the direction of and in conjunction with the surgeon, as assigned.
• Maintain infection prevention and patient safety standards.
• Complete accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, patient responses, and outcomes in the EHR.
• Contribute to a safe, organized, and efficient surgical environment.

Qualifications

Required:

• Diploma, Associate’s Degree, or Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing
• Current RN license in good standing
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong clinical assessment and patient monitoring abilities
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment

Preferred:

• 2+ years of Operating Room experience
• Knowledge of surgical procedures, scrub techniques, and perioperative nursing care
• Pain Management procedure experience
• Experience using a C-Arm in a surgical setting
• Ophthalmology experience
• Knowledge of SIS

Pay: $42.00 - $45.00 per hour
