About the role

We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join our team and support the stability, availability and performance of our Oracle database environments.

The role requires strong knowledge of Oracle architecture, database administration, backup and recovery, high-availability solutions and performance optimisation. You will collaborate closely with developers, system administrators and business stakeholders to ensure reliable database operations and timely resolution of technical issues.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, monitor and maintain Oracle database environments.
• Ensure database availability, stability, security and performance.
• Perform database backup, restoration and recovery activities using Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) and Oracle Data Pump .
• Support high-availability and disaster recovery environments using Oracle Active Data Guard .
• Plan, coordinate and perform Oracle database patching activities.
• Monitor database performance and proactively identify potential issues.
• Analyse Automatic Workload Repository (AWR) reports and address database performance bottlenecks.
• Review execution plans and optimise slow-running SQL queries.
• Manage indexing strategies to improve database performance.
• Monitor and manage database environments using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) .
• Support Oracle databases hosted within AWS environments.
• Perform database administration activities within Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Troubleshoot database incidents and provide timely technical resolutions.
• Collaborate with developers, system administrators and other technical teams.
• Communicate technical issues, risks and solutions clearly to business stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate technical and operational documentation.
• Participate in the rotational shift schedule and weekend on-call support.

Qualifications and experience

• Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture and administration.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) and Oracle Data Pump .
• Experience working with Oracle Active Data Guard .
• Practical experience with Oracle database patching and maintenance.
• Strong performance-tuning and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience analysing AWR reports, execution plans and slow-running queries.
• Good understanding of SQL optimisation and database indexing.
• Proficiency in Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) .
• Experience working with AWS infrastructure.
• Good knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear and effective communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with developers, system administrators and business stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a shift-based support environment.

Working schedule

This position follows a 24x5 rotational shift model , based on Romanian working hours:

• Morning shift: 06:00 to 15:00
• Afternoon shift: 14:30 to 23:30
• Night shift: 22:00 to 07:00

The role also requires participation in a scheduled weekend on-call rotation .
