Oracle Exadata & Linux Infrastructure Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage the enterprise Oracle Exadata platform lifecycle.
• Lead Exadata upgrade, migration, and refresh initiatives, including X8 to X11 transitions.
• Administer and optimize Oracle workloads running on KVM virtualization platforms.
• Manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) environments.
• Ensure platform stability, availability, scalability, and security.
• Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and infrastructure optimization.
• Design and implement automation for operational efficiencies.
• Lead patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and lifecycle management activities.
• Support high-availability, disaster recovery, backup, and recovery strategies.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and performance issues across integrated systems.
• Collaborate with database, application, storage, network, and security teams.
• Develop operational standards, technical documentation, and best practices.
• Provide technical leadership for platform modernization and future-state architecture.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Enterprise Platform Administration.
• Strong expertise in Oracle Exadata administration and support.
• Hands-on experience with Exadata migrations, upgrades, and platform refresh projects.
• Deep knowledge of Oracle Database infrastructure technologies.
• Extensive experience with:
• Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL)
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
• KVM Virtualization
• Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard environments.
• Experience with performance monitoring, capacity planning, and tuning.
• Knowledge of backup, recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Scripting and automation experience using Shell, Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of networking, storage, and infrastructure security principles.
