Oral Surgery Assistant

**$1,000 hiring bonus for successful completion of 90 day training period**

Milwaukee Oral Surgery & Implants is seeking Oral Surgery Assistants for our growing practice. Serving our community for over 50 years, our offices are conveniently located in Wauwatosa, Brookfield, Mequon, Glendale, Menomonee Falls, and Port Washington.

You will help with preparing patients, sterilizing instruments, setting up rooms, and assisting in oral surgery procedures. Successful applicants will have strong attention to detail, take pride in providing world class patient care, and be a reliable teammate willing to learn new skills. Personal, dependable transportation is also a requirement as travel between locations may be necessary.

Office hours Monday through Friday 7:30am - 5 pm. The doctors and staff strive to provide excellence in surgical care administered in a friendly and compassionate manner.

Drs. Triggs, Smith, Midtling, Waligora, Bertanga, and Hadj practice a complete spectrum of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery and facial trauma.

While oral surgery experience is a plus, we are happy to train the right candidate. We offer a structured training program which allows for advancement as well as paid training and certification opportunities.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing patients for surgical procedures.
• Helping with infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, preparing materials, and assisting with dental procedures.
• Assisting surgeons in managing medical and dental emergencies when necessary.
• Providing world class patient care.
• Updating and maintaining patient medical records.
• Exposing dental x-rays from dental diagnostics and caring for dental x-ray equipment.
• Collecting and recording medical and dental histories and patient vital signs.
• Providing postoperative care instructions as directed by the surgeon.
• Maintaining dental equipment and supply inventory

Requirements

• 1-2 years of dental assisting experience
• The ability to take direction from the oral surgeon
• Dependable transportation as travel between offices may be necessary
• Willingness to learn and progress during training period
• Works in an organized and detail-oriented manner
• Professional appearance and attitude
