What they need
Job Overview
We’re looking for an organised, reliable and friendly Order Processing Operative to join our team. You’ll play an important part in making sure customer orders are processed accurately and delivered on time, from the moment an order comes in to when it leaves our warehouse.
You’ll work closely with our customers, warehouse team and sales team to keep everything running smoothly. If you enjoy staying organised, working with computer systems and helping customers, this could be a great opportunity to build your administrative and IT skills in a busy and supportive working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process customer orders by phone and email.
- Check order details carefully, including quantities, product specifications and delivery instructions.
- Use Microsoft Excel and other Office applications to update records, track orders and prepare reports.
- Process orders using Sage accounting software, making sure pricing and billing details are correct. Don’t worry if you haven’t used Sage before, as training will be provided.
- Work closely with the warehouse team to make sure orders are picked, packed and dispatched on time.
- Keep customers updated by phone or email about their orders, including any delays or issues.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date records of orders, transactions and customer communications.
Skills and Experience
We’re looking for someone who is organised, has a good eye for detail and enjoys working as part of a team. Ideally, you’ll have:
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Experience using Sage accounting software is helpful but not essential, as training will be provided.
- Good written and spoken English, with the confidence to communicate clearly with customers and colleagues.
- Previous administrative experience and the ability to keep records accurate and organised.
- Good IT skills and the confidence to learn new systems and software.
- The ability to manage your time, prioritise tasks and work efficiently in a busy environment.
- A friendly, helpful attitude and a willingness to solve problems.
- The ability to work independently when needed, while also being a supportive team member.
Why Join Us?
This is a great opportunity to become part of a friendly, hardworking team where your contribution really matters. You’ll gain valuable experience in order processing, administration and business software, while helping us provide a reliable and positive service to our customers.
If you’re proactive, enjoy keeping things organised and take pride in getting the details right, we’d love to hear from you!
