Order Processing Specialist

We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented Order Processing Specialist to join our locally owned promotional products company in Holt, MI. The Idea People has been supplying specialty advertising and promotional products for 50 years. In this role, accuracy matters. Mistakes in orders create real problems for customers and the rest of the team, so we need someone who stays on top of details and catches issues before they ship.

You will own the process of ensuring orders are entered correctly, tracked, and communicated through to delivery. This is a front-office role with steady volume, clear systems, and real ownership of order quality.

What you'll do:

• Proof and manage customer orders in our system from initial booking through delivery, ensuring accuracy on product, quantity, pricing, shipping, and special instructions
• Review orders carefully and flag or correct discrepancies before they move forward
• Communicate with suppliers on inventory, order status, and shipment tracking
• Support the sales team by confirming order details and keeping records clean and up to date
• Answer phones, greet clients, and handle general inquiries as needed
• Assist with related tasks such as generating reports or supporting order fulfillment projects

What we're looking for:

• Strong organizational skills and proven attention to detail (this is the most important requirement)
• Experience with order entry, order processing, data entry, or similar administrative work preferred
• Comfortable using computers and office software (Microsoft Office or similar); willingness to learn our company software
• Ability to manage multiple open orders and follow up without letting things slip
• Reliable, professional communication with customers, suppliers, and teammates
• High school diploma or equivalent
